Hammocks Community School is a program by Miami-Dade County public shools. Our mission is to empower and unite the community by providing opportunities for life-long learning which enhances the quality of life in Miami-Dade County. Community education is a way for people to advance their lives and communities through learning and callaboration. It is a concept that provides opportunities for local community members, schools, and other organizations to become partners in addressing educational and community concerns.

In America today, 1 in 4 youth -- 14.3 million children – are alone and unsupervised after school. Afterschool programs keep kids safe, help working families and inspire learning. They provide opportunities to help young people develop into successful adults.
